Spooktober Mini-Series: Dare to Date? - Fallen Angel

Beware! The following stories are not for the faint of heart.

Dating can be fun and exciting, but it can also be sp0o0oky. In honor of Halloween and all things sp0o0oky, we’ve put together a compilation of first date horror stories. So sit back, relax, and leave the lights on while you enjoy our latest blog from some daring daters.

Fallen Angel

After graduating from grad school, I moved back to Nashville and hit the dating scene. A highlight from my time on Rhymes with Sminder….

Don’t you love showing up to grab drinks… only to discover that your date intended to have dinner? That’s happened to me more than I’d like to admit, but on this particular date (with a man we’ll call Neal), I refused to cave to the pressure. I sat and sipped my gin and tonic (I had elevated from Admiral Nelson at this point) as Neal ate his dinner.  While this wasn’t a deal breaker,  the fact that the entire conversation revolved around Neal’s belief that aliens were fallen angels cinched it. I generally try to steer clear of religion talk on first dates, but Neal was insistent. Alas (or should I say “thankfully”), I could barely listen to him because I couldn’t stop staring at the mashed potatoes and gravy coating the bottom tip of his very long beard.

Meghan Lamb

After graduating from Belmont University, Meghan Lamb continued her education at Indiana University. Lamb currently serves as a Marketing & Account Manager at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Lamb enjoys watching Schitt’s Creek, listening to My Favorite Murder, and spending quality time with her family.
